Lompoc High School Class of 1986 – 40th Reunion Website

Last updated: February 2026

Dear Class of ’86 friends and family,

We truly appreciate you visiting our reunion website and sharing in the excitement of seeing everyone again after 40 wonderful (and sometimes wild!) years. Your trust means the world to us, so we want to be very open about how we handle any personal information you choose to share.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who sees it, and how we keep it safe. We’re just a small group of your classmates volunteering our time—no big company, no selling data, just old friends trying to bring the class back together.

  1. Information We Collect

We only collect what is truly needed to plan and enjoy our 40th reunion.

Information you give us directly — When you register, RSVP, update your profile, submit a bio/photo, join our mailing list, or contact us, we may collect things like:

  – Your full name (or nickname/maiden name)

  – Email address

  – Phone number (optional)

  – Mailing address (optional, mainly for printed invitations if we do any)

  – Graduation year confirmation (1986)

  – Any fun details you want to share (e.g., “I still live in Lompoc,” “Retired teacher,” short bio, or photo)

Automatically collected information — Like most websites, our site may collect basic technical data such as:

  – Your IP address

  – Browser type and device

  – Pages visited and time spent

This helps us see if the site is working well and fix any issues.

We do **not** collect sensitive information like Social Security numbers, credit card details (any payments would go through a secure third-party processor if we have ticket sales), or anything not related to the reunion.

 2. How We Use Your Information

We use what you share only to make the reunion happen and keep classmates connected:

– To contact you about reunion plans, date announcements (like Saturday, August 22, 2026!), ticket info, hotel blocks, or event updates

– To create a classmate directory or attendee list (only shared with registered ’86 classmates who opt in)

– To display bios, photos, or messages you voluntarily post (if we have a “Classmate Spotlights” or “Memory Lane” section)

– To respond when you email or message us with questions

– To improve the website (anonymous usage stats only)

 3. Sharing Your Information

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We may share your info only in these limited ways:

– With other Class of 1986 reunion committee volunteers (so we can coordinate emails, RSVPs, etc.)

– With registered classmates (only names, cities/states, and optional bios/photos that you yourself chose to make public on the site)

– If required by law (court order, etc.—though we hope that never happens)

If we use any third-party services (e.g., email service like Mailchimp, event registration platform, or photo hosting), they are only allowed to use the data to provide that one service to us and must protect it under their own privacy rules.

 4. Photos and User-Submitted Content

If you upload a photo or write something for the site, you’re giving us permission to display it on the reunion website and related Class of ’86 social pages (Facebook group, etc.). You can ask us to remove anything you’ve submitted by emailing the committee—we’ll take it down as quickly as possible.

 5. Your Choices

You are always in control:

– You can opt out of emails at any time (unsubscribe link in every message)

– You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information by contacting us

– You don’t have to provide any information beyond what’s required for registration/RSVP

 6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information (secure hosting, password-protected areas, etc.). But no website is 100% secure, so please use good password habits and don’t share your login if we have one.

 7. Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

 8. Changes to This Policy

If we need to update this policy (maybe we add a new feature), we’ll post the new version here and note the date. Check back occasionally, or we’ll try to email you about big changes.

 9. Contact Us

Questions, concerns, or requests about your privacy? Please reach out—we’re here for you.

Email: Contact@Lompoc86.com

Or message us through the website contact form / Facebook page.

Thank you for being part of our Class of ’86 family. We can’t wait to hug you all in 2026 and make some new memories together.

With warmest regards,
